What can I expect?

How long is a Newark UPC service?

In total, a Newark UPC church service is about 90 minutes in length. Services begin with the Newark UPC music team leading the church in singing, while the song lyrics are projected onto the screen. We encourage you to sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. After the music portion of service is complete, one of our pastors will share an encouraging and hope-filled message about Jesus that often challenges us to grow in our discipleship.

What's the culture like at Newark UPC?

Sundays at Newark UPC are spirit-filled, bible-based, and engaging. We encourage you to come as you are but we hope that you will expect to grow, learn and be challenged. We are inclusive, diverse, and believe in a whole body ministry approach (all making disciples of all). Whether a congregant or a pastoral team member, we are all students of the Word.

What about my kids?

During COVID-19 we continue to host weekly activities for both children and teenagers on our digital campus. Our youth class meets Wednesdays at 8:00 PM in a private Zoom meeting, and our KBN classes meet online every Sunday afternoon starting at 1 PM. For more details about the youth class, contact our Director of Children and Youth Ministries, Keiara Horn at For more information about our online Sunday KBN classes Click Here.

At Newark UPC, we believe that children are valuable members of our church and their growth is our priority. Because children learn by our example, we believe that they are an important part of our services. After all, who better to teach them to worship than their own parents? As we worship side-by-side, young and old, not only are our children learning to conduct themselves appropriately, but we are able to pour into them as they grow as future leaders and servants of God. Because of this philosophy, we are a very child-friendly church. Children at Newark UPC do not have a separate Sunday service.

In addition to our combined Sunday worship services, we also have a dedicated Kids' Bible Night (ages 4-11) in our Fellowship Hall and youth class (ages 12-18) in the main building. Both KBN and Youth class meet on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm.

In order to ensure the safety of our children on our physical campus, we have a detailed check-in process. On your first visit, please allow an extra ten minutes for registration.
